Well on the way to the funeral this week, some chic in a T4R decided to make a sharp right turn from the left turn lane into my parent’s 2018 Camry. They were in the straight/right turn lane. I don’t have the accident pics, but her two rear tires were still in the left turn lane at impact. City cop didn’t give any citation and wrote it up where both insurance providers would have to fight it out. A little over $3000 on the Camry and would be a point for no fault since over $2500 damage.(something like that)
The parent’s 2020 SR5 Tacoma will be here next week..Dad is making them put at least the Goodyear all terrains on versus the hwy tire standard..

When not at fault in an accident, may want to try your luck and wait for a trooper to try and get them to write a ticket for the one at fault..

I hear you! I was thinking the same thing when my sister called and said her and my mom may need a lift.
Any recommendations on what you have?

Dash cam/lots of pics if possible and having a very good recollection of what happened, also trying to keep any witnesses there if possible. Cops are not required to give any citation for any violation it is up to their discretion. Now (not sure if the value changed) but anything past $2000 in property damages had to be reported and a report made. So the police officer should be making a report with where the cars were at the time of the accident. Your parents are going to have to give their testimony to their ins. company and possibly the other person's. Advise them to make sure they can fluently and easily give their statement where there isn't any holes so to speak. That's all I got.

Insurance said they could get a lawyer, but because of the way the cop wrote the report a judge would probably just send it to the insurance companies.
No one stopped and couldn’t get any other witnesses. Even the pics with the T4R in both lanes was a no go.
Dad believes it may not have been as bad if the anti lock brakes would have locked, and maybe even missed her.
She was a mile a minute on the phone when I got there. Sister said she was on the phone the whole time previous and never to her insurance.
We believe she was on her phone and not paying attention to the road...
Well everyone ok and parents are getting a new Tacoma..Hope dad realizes the new Tacos don’t get 30mpg like his ‘87 T4R. He misses it and regrets selling at 300k miles.

My wife and I are talking about getting a camper. We can get a smaller one that the Tacoma could tow to start with, and that’s still an option, but I’ve pitched the idea of upgrading to a Tundra so we can go ahead and just start with something bigger instead of getting a little one and likely wanting something bigger in a year or two.

Thing is, I’m not sure what I could get for my Tacoma. It’s a 2008 PreRunner DCSB 4.0 auto 174k miles. Factory tow package. 2” lift (5100’s all around, 1/4” ToyTec spacers, and a Wheeler’s AAL) on 17” Fuel Mavericks and 165/70R17 Duratrac’s. NFAB step bars, 35% tint all around, and a Kobalt toolbox. Pioneer head unit and an 8” Rockford sub/amp.

The KBB is $10,700 which seems low. I typically see Tacoma’s going for well over KBB, especially with mods. What do y’all think I could legitimately expect to get for it if (big IF) I were to sell it?

I figured I’d ask in the local thread first since y’all know the market around here.

Mods don’t raise price except in very particular circumstances, and don’t take this the wrong way, but your mods being kind of low end, they may hurt the price. I’d take all that off and sell it as Stock. But you’ll also eliminate a large part of the buying pool since it’s missing those front drive shafts. Many people won’t consider buying 2x4 no matter how low the price.

Always like to look around when at the stealership for the so called “free” services..I still can’t get over the BMW motor in the Supra, and the cheap tires on the T4R Offroad..
My dad asked for AT’s for my mom’s 2020 Tacoma SR5, but even they could have been a little more aggressive..
