Meck county schools are hit or miss, there are some good ones, and some not so good ones. Also, boundaries change from time to time, so there is no guarantee if you buy into a district, that it will remain that way forever. There is talk recently of redistricting for Cox Mill, affecting Highland Creek and Skybrook potentially. (Cabarrus - you know this) I think you can research on the CMS website and look at test scores, % of free and reduced lunch, etc., to get a better idea. My wife works at Washam Elem in Cornelius, which is why we are looking to find something in that area +/-

 

Krystal keeps looking at Denver, but it's more expensive than ever and even less inventory, plus it's still a solid 35-40min commute on a good day. Huntersville or Concord I think are going to be the best bet. Although I totally forgot that Huntersville is CMS, I've not heard any good things about their school system as compared to Cabarrus, Iredell, and Lincoln counties.
