Oh, man, don't take anything I say on here seriously. I'm just an idiot with a keyboard and the will to use it.

Besides, I used to work for the City of New Smyrna Beach. :anonymous:

In all seriousness that’s pretty awesome. I started a 401K at 21 that I’ve always thrown at least 5% in and progressed it to where I throw 12% in currently and there’s no way in hell I’d have enough to retire at that age even if I could access it that early. Good for you man.

I was the son and grandson of military/state level employees. All i heard growing up was if your not going to college go to work for the gov.

I graduated HS early. Attempted college and found out it wasnt for me. Got lucky with my application for the gov and the rest is history. I was 10 years in before i felt like i was making "decent" money. But ive got great insurance, 401k, pension..etc. and like i said im out at 48 with 100%.

Getting smacked 2x with the economy issues on the 401ks didn't help any either.

I took pretty much 3 yrs off work at 32 and have been semi retired since 35. :rofl:I'll be 40 this yr.
Thankfully you also live in a state that isn't dicking around with your pension also at the possibility of loosing it.
