No. I dont think so. 2x8's when spec'd for joist, should carry a live load of 40lbs per square foot.

Its not the 2x8's. Its the span. I would think that the weight of the lumber itself must be taken into account also.

I could be way off though.
Take it with a grain of salt.

Any idea what the static load rating is? Do they even rate static load?

The reality is with the carpeted pieces laying on the I-beams there really isn't going to be a lot of load put on them in the middle it'll all be on the I-beam. Don't invest too much time or $$$ even with treated lumber you'll be replacing them every few years anyways.

    That’s my thought too.

No it’s untreated. Fun fact, treated lumber will fawk up some pontoons(or any aluminum for that matter)

Treated lumber in general is pretty nasty stuff. It's really caustic. It'll stain fiberglass boats as well.

Yours did... we were trying that stand up reverse 69 and I choked her out... went to deep. She ended pile driving me grave digger style right in the middle of the bedroom floor. My leg flopped into the unclean kitty litter box. Flung shit everywhere.

That’s gonna be a chore docking each time trying to land on those. Most toon lifts I’ve seen just lift from the under-decking, not the toons. At least ours does, and all the ones I’ve been around :notsure:

You think? I’m using flat bunks that are 10” wide and I have the plastic guide poles on each side to even me out. I’m new to pontoons though.....

He won't be driving on to the lift, he will dock it, then he can hold the boat in place as it lifts.
