Quality of life is good. As a military brat, it’s the only place that has felt like home. Plenty of opportunity to make your life what you make it. I live outside Charlotte (can’t stand city life), and love it.

 

I’ve got a coworker who will be selling a house in Matthews in March/April. Location is killer.

 

matthews is blue, union county (Monroe, Weddington, Wesley Chapel) is more red. Same with Cabarrus IIRC

 

Your budget and how close you want to be to the city will be a big factor

lived in lake Wylie in 2001/2 that might be a option

 

Can’t go wrong with lake Wylie, fort mill and parts of Indian Land.

 

You want to be on the lake? There are a couple waterfront lots next to me, ready for building.

 

Will be down there in a few weeks to look around
