I purchased a pair of knock off recovery boards off of EBay. For the amount of use/abuse that they may get it was worth the lower cost investment. Used a tow strap when out on the beach north or Currituck to pull out a minivan and a Rogue. Never had any issues with the truck at all, even with my 15 year old driving up to the Virginia border multiple times last summer. Just make sure that your companions are aired down properly and have the right type of vehicle to drive the beach.

Headstrong Offroad. They sold along with Wheelers and are now owned by TG aka trail gear aka same company owns All Poo and Low Range. This is why Wheeler's stopped sending candy in your order and some of the deals they use to strike with forum members and discounts they would give are no longer being done.

didn’t know headstrong sold out. Must have been a hell of an offer. Wheelers went to shit when they were bought out.

Yep some of the stuff they use to carry and selection are no more. I think ToyTec has gotten worse as well.

I have XBulls, have never had to use them yet so can’t vouch for them. Seem like good quality and it someone steals them off the roof rack I won’t cry about it. With good tires, a winch, locker, and ATRAC on my truck, I had to be realistic about how much I’d use them to justify that $300+ price. Being at the beach frequently is the only reason I could stomach it and I don’t go that much. I now realize this post was of no use at all.

About as useful as my post since I got a set of cheap ones for Christmas. They haven't left the garage or the carrying case since I got them. Probably will never use them. The beach is a good idea. But how much I hate sand and the salt just going with the kid the likelihood of me driving on the beach is pretty slim.

I mainly got them for snow recovery, then I moved south. They did come in handy when I got my 1-ton truck and trailer stuck in our backyard.

I'm not worried about getting stuck or anything I just don't like all the sand. I had my fill as a teenager.
