I asked my wife how much she had in her car. She said over half, I said ok.

Freaking people around here have no concept of how to act in these situations. The assholes at the stations with 10 cans getting filled needs to have their ass beat. I’m from Ft Lauderdale. Try hoarding shit there and it will not end well. If you need to fill up, do so. Otherwise I say stay away.

What would happen? If I show up with my truck bed full of cans that I use for my boat? Would #floridaman come and beat me up?

People just don't understand the concept or preparing for issues like this. They take that just in time manufacturing to every aspect of their lives so they don't even have food or water past 1 week. Some asshats don't understand that this is a free country and if I want to fill an entire bed full of fuel with transfer tanks and the likes I can. Or maybe I'm filling all those tanks to supply equipment to help deal with the shit that's gonna destroy a lot of stuff. People just need to learn to lighten up and stop being self righteous Karen's and just let others do what they are gonna do. My job on this planet is to not concern myself with what the schmuck at the pump next to me is doing but doing what I need to do to make sure me and my family are taken care of, after that I'll worry about my community. I'm not scared of FL man I watch Sheriff Judd and see what FL man does.

AND, I did say these situations, what issue do we have?. The pipeline may be down 2 days. AND we are not being hit with any weather.

No one would do anything besides take pictures of you, tweet them, then call you names on the internet.

In all seriousness anti price gouging rules and policies lead to supply shortages. Supply tightens, jack the price up to $10gal, people stop buying, supply recovers and the market/price corrects.

The media and politicians push of fear of everything doesn't help. I mean the sky is falling everyday. But meddling with market always seems to screw it up.
Promoting violence for someone preparing for the potential of the pipeline being down longer than 2 days and assuming you know why they were filling those 10 cans up geeee I wonder where the issue is. Guess you weren't here for Katrina or a dozen other storms that they shut the pipeline down for then it was down longer and were tanking in fuel from other supply areas due to that.

We can all laugh at the idiots who pump gas into bags and stuff that shit is just funny.

I want to agree, because I don't like Government intervention in private industry, but the reality is there are a lot of people and businesses that would be hurt by that. My buddy sent me this photo this morning, he buys 250+ gallons a week so this is half what he needs.

Had the media never started pushing this story on the half hour, we had never known of an issue. Now, freaked out people will end up panic buying. Truth is, pipeline shutdowns during tropical systems is a relatively common occurance. They also shut the offshore rigs down too when systems move through the Gulf...
