  This A.I.R pump is what is making noise as it just started been as silent as a mouse for a yr....

 

Shouldn't that be covered under the emission's warranty which is longer than the standard 3/36?

Emission Defect Warranty Toyota warrants that your vehicle: • Was designed, built and equipped to conform at the time of sale with applicable federal emissions standards. • Is free from defects in materials and workmanship that may cause the vehicle to fail to meet these standards. Federal regulations require that this warranty be in effect for two years or 24,000 miles from the vehicle’s in-service date, whichever occurs first. However, under the terms of the Basic Warranty, Toyota provides coverage of three years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Specific components may have longer coverage under the terms of the Powertrain Warranty. Additionally, components marked “8/80” in the parts list on pages 18–19 have coverage of eight years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first

those things do make quite the noise when you turn the engine off. sounds like a shop vac for a second or two...is that what you are hearing?

 

Nope this makes noise when its running at idle in park sounds like Peter Criss playing the drums.... it was doing it when I took it in this morning service writer goes $159 to diagnose it I was like it has 20K and is under warranty. We even went out and found a new 4 runner on the lot started it and it was not making any noise.

 

Unpossible…the 4.0 is perfect according to most.
