That sucks! You gonna replace it with another 4runner or get the new sequoia? I wonder what the buy back price will be for the 4runner, a lot of good parts on it for somebody with a gx470

 

She wants another 4Runner but I’m trying to sell her on a 460

 

Hard to beat the GX460. Feels like a tank. Yes it's a little sluggish feeling compared to the 470. But the heated/ventilated seats are nice. And depending on the year, slightly better nav than a 470. Unless you go new then the nav is awesome. Plus CarPlay and Android Auto.
Starting in 2020, the GX starting coming with Lexus Safety System +. Things like a pre-collision system and radar cruise.

 

We would get a new one. Can’t be more sluggish than her 4Runner! But it’s a 2021 ORP so it has CarPlay plus all those safety features too, not that they helped us haha

 

Just looked at our inventory. Between on the ground, in freight and allocated, we have 13 GXs. And they're all sold.

 

If you play hard ball well enough then they'll replace it. Insurance companies will state BS like we're not obligated to pay for a rental past 5 days per the law but it's easy to get them to get you in one longer. The thing is most people give up too easily with their claim and get tired quickly it's a game of attrition. Mods they like to say well such and such install date plus depreciation it's worth X. That letterhead will do one thing shut them up and shut them down on working with you, they'll then hand it off to their legal team and it'll be a fight between lawyers. When they say they're recording you say good I'm recording you as well. Insurance, is the only business model game of chance that wins all the time. I've never believed in those we'll help you get the money out of your vehicle places. It's pretty easy to show them pictures of the empty lots and long waits for new toyotas as well as current pricing. The other thing you'll have to worry about is what the insured persons MAXs are on the policy if they don't have enough to cover what you're asking then you get the max and are left going after the person/company who owns/driver of the vehicle and that will be with lawyers.

 

My local yota dealer has turned into more of a repair shop and used car dealer. Besides some of the Rav4 and cars, most all the trucks and suvs are sold and are only sitting out front for people to see waiting to get picked up by their new owners. Yet we can go down to pretty much any other dealer in town and get anything. Yota doesn't seem to be fairing well with getting back up and running after the pandemic rush like the other automakers did.

 

And they are also cutting production again due to supplier issues.

 

Oh I don’t expect this replacement to be fun or quick. Hell I’ve been waiting for my F-150 almost 7 months now.

 

Fortunately it was a commercial vehicle so their coverage should be pretty high

 

I stopped by today and they had three vehicles on the lot. Three.

 

Just get a Ford Maverick.

It's trickle down for sure. I work for a belting company and we can't supply industry fast enough with products for them to keep running. Our raw material is essentially allocated as soon as it arrives.

 

Well that was lucky and I hope you don't end up spending too crazy of a mark up on it.

 

Sorry, that was confusing. They had no 4Runners. That was just a quote I asked them for so I can use it for insurance

 

Sheesh well I guess it'll be used market for ya then or you'll be waiting for a new 4runner like the tremor. Why's it taking so long on the tremor? Our ford dealer is slap full of trucks, not sure if they have any tremors.

 

I'd stick with the T4R personally. The more I drive my wifes 460, the more I hate it. It's big, slow, and ugly. Seats are horribly uncomfortable as well.

GX are nice, but for the price of a new one I'd be looking hard at a slightly used LX570 or LC200

couple of my customers import industrial piping, valves, etc...they can't get it here soon enough. It's all sold before it's ever manufactured overseas.
