Not beating a dead horse, and this has been posted elsewhere too, but all of us 3.SLO owners have have most likely experienced a surging idle. Well, After replacing the TPS, MAF and a top to bottom TB cleaning, still have the issue. Checked for a vac leak, replaced the water line for the TB, and it seemed to fix it, but the surge came back. It acts like a vac leak because I cant adjust the idle. I've adjusted the dash pot and throttle stop. It doesn't surge when I am stopped on a hill or don't engage the clutch, but it does when I press the brake pedal. It wont do it until after the temp comes up to normal most of the time.

Any gremlin assassins out there got any ideas?

Does that have IAC? If so have you cleaned & checked it? Also perhaps investigate your brake booster & vacuum to it since you mentioned surge when pressing brake. What about PCV valve? I just found one that was completely clogged last week. You didn’t mention adjusting the TPS, the FSM has the procedure. Also sometimes Toyota uses a water temp sensor for the ecu / idle control... check for that if you haven’t

Oh yea, TPS is adjusted, and the PCV valve was replaced about 8 months ago. No leaks in the VAC for the booster, and I cant find any issues with the booster. Have plenty of brakes, they will lock up all 4 tires. I only know this because I had to make evasive maneuvers after a chick pulled out in front of me.
