You ought to take the EGR valve off and clean the passage while you have it apart. It could be restricted, maybe around where the temperature sensor is.

I ran pink tops on my motor for about a year. They are shaped a little different but bolt right in with zero modifications. Same plug connections and all.

Before I turbo’d I did pinks and deleted my egr at the same time. Truck definitely ran better

If it makes you feel any better, the Milwaukee is cheap considering the price of a modern smartphone has to be used too. ;) I'll post some bore scope pics when I take them.

I did that and it looks pretty clean. Very little carbon built up inside which makes sense because I have a receipt that shows that EGR was replace Feb 28, 2017 (from previous owner). I can see dealer records that show it was at dealer for P0402 prior to that. This EGR is less than 10K old.

Thanks for clarifying that James. I think the pinks are the way I'd like to go. I have PM'ed Madtaco461 for help in determining if the ones on Ebay are genuine OEM or cheap Chinese imitations.

I ordered these today for $100 shipped. They clearly claim to be OEM and have been cleaned and flow tested(details in listing). Seller also has 100% feedback and it looks like they deal with quite a few injectors.

Borescope looked pretty good until I tried to use it in a dark place. I don't think it's going to capture very good images due to insufficient light. It has built in LEDS but they are very dim. The 200 Milwaukee is sounds pretty good at this point.

I'll give it a shot down in the cylinder tomorrow....however expectations are low.

I found the LED adjustment. It gets VERY bright if needed, so it may actually work pretty well. Will see in the morning.

The angled mirror didn't work that great so no shots of the bottom of the head. But here's some pretty good pics of the top of pistons. They all pretty much look the same to me but I don't have much experience diagnosing internal engine components. I'd say that the buildup looks minimal.

Hmm. I would've expected more build up as well. Especially after seeing the intake runners. Maybe it is just the build up in the runners causing issues. The scope pics are impressive! I gotta get one now:D

I got the head ports cleaned up. The scrapper worked awesome. Then a rag soaked with carb cleaner cleaned the rest followed by vacuuming.

Looking good. That's what I meant, the head, not the intake runners. But yeah, looking much cleaner lol

my curiousity is with those clean spots on the edge of the piston. The edges of the carbon will glow and that will cause a pre-ignition. I have no eperience with Sea Foam so I do not know if it is a carbon treatment or not.

Lower part of the intake runners were nearly as bad as the head ports. It's unbelievable how much buildup I've removed.

I have no idea but I'm very curious what some experienced folks will think about the piston photos.

I don't have the new injectors yet but went ahead and took a look at the old ones. They all have a little build up at the end, but here's the worst one.
    20171123_182243.jpg

Thanks. I'm pleased with how it came out.
