I have exported my Taco with me on military PCS orders and having a small problem during the registration process.

The host country's traffic office is unable to find a "CHASSIS ID"?

I am not talking about the 2 Vins on the Engine, the inside of the drivers side door, the driver's side windshield, or the decals inside the engine compartment.

Is there a Chassis ID? or am I fooked?

Last year I must have slipped under the radar on this because I had no problems in the registration. Today they were picking the truck apart and I was getting pissed.

    Any help?

    Thanks, TATTS

    Nothing yet, brand new!
Someone else might know better than I but the frames are not manufactured by Toyota. Chances of actually seeing a chassis number are slim on the frame. Try the engine bay firewall area for stamped vin.

My only other idea is to contact your selling dealer and have them print out and fax to you the "DCS" report showing all relevant numbers. This is easily accomplished by calling the service department and providing your VIN. Ask them to also print any screen shots that might contain a chassis number along with the vin.

I have done many an export letter at work for a small fee and stamped/certified those letters..

    Good luck.
