    I don't get most of this thread.
    Battery tie downs are meant to keep the battery from flopping around. It's not like they're meant to be torqued down like wheels or bumpers.

    Did this turn into a discussion regarding the bolts that stick up and possibly indents the hood?

    The battery needs to be snug and not torqued.

    I happen to overtighten my battery hold down and it caused a leak...lesson learned.

    No, we had a co-worker hooked up a NOCO battery tender to his BMW 330 to the posts(terminals are under the hood, but battery is in the trunk), then shut the hood. The alligator clamps touched the hood, shorted out, the fiberglass liner started to burn. That was the joke.

    Bed cover, soon bug deflector, halo interior lights and backup
    Had a bmw 325ci the jumper lug you refer to can easily be used with a battery tender through the winter months, you just need a half a brain when clamping on the clip.
