Wow, the first front bumper that properly fits 05-15!!

edit: Aren't there necessary differences between the 05-11 and 12-15?

True. Chinese steel is very iffy! Anything at huge quantites can be cheap. I bet ARB has $100 or less in their manufacturing cost on their bumpers. It's why they all look the same. Keeps cost down when you arent doing constant redesign, fixtures and parts.

China and Japan make the best steel and have been buying the vast majority of the US scrap metal for probably 40 years.

US made steel isn't as good, so far as I have ever heard.

Made in China can be sketchy, but steel manufacturing? I wouldn't be afraid of that.

I'm not in that industry so I could be wrong, but everything I've heard at least has formed that opinion of steel manufacturing.

Most shops here buy Canadian or US steel. It's not so much that there isn't quality Chinese steel available. It's more that Chinese steel is not consistent order after order and that makes it difficult to work with. At least that's what my local welding shop buddies say.

If you could get them raw and coat locally they might be ok. The Chinese powder coat is shit and will rust and peel within a year. Best bet is to fix before there is a problem, still cheaper than name brand. I had Chinese knock off shitty built bumpers on my jeep, price was right and they were built nice but finish didn't last.

This. We also buy steel from Canada and here as well. We make 10 trailers and 8 headramps (Cottrell Trailers) a day and there's no way we can afford with inconsistencies.

It does not matter if you do it over the phone or through ebay. What matters is if you used a credit card. You are protected against fraudulent activity when you use a REAL credit card, not your bank ATM/credit card. You should have 60 days from the time of purchase to dispute if this ends up being some kind of scam. I hope you used a credit card.

Ive been reading some jeep forums about these bumpers. It seems like they'd the exact same thread in 2013 when they launched a bumper for the jeep. People were hesitant obviously and for good reason. But deeper in the thread all I'm reading is good things about the bumper and the company. Only negative is people are a little wary about the powder coating.
From what I read about ko off-road and their bumpers in the jeep forum, and from talking to customer service for 15 minutes I'm definitely going to pull the trigger on one of these this morning.

This is the truth, the company I work for has plants in China, Mexico, Canada, and the USA. It's not that the Chinese steel isn't strong, it's that is varies heavily from lot to lot. We send back more Chinese steel than the other 3 countries combined due to the material spec failures.
