This is my first write up so im not sure how its gonna turn out and i will edit it if need be. Thanks for your patience

I broke my cupholder years ago and was too lazy and didn't think it was important enough to order one, or go to a junk yard and look for one.
Cleaning out my truck last week revealed layers of grime from spilled coffee and general nastiness and i figured i'd give this a try.
I probably wouldn't of done it if T.W. didn't introduce me to plasti-dip.
    Here it goes

    Materials:
1 pc of 2x4, 2x6 ,or 2xanything(bigger is easier to work with)
Plasti-dip or spray paint(it'll cost ya if its not lyin around)
Miter saw or Miter box/Hand saw
    Sander or sand paper/sponge

    1.Cut 2x to 3 13/16"w x 2 7/8h
    The tray tapers down
2.Left side(shift) cut 1/4" miter to the top
    3.Right side(dash)cut 1/16" miter to the top
    4.Top cut 1/16 miter left side(shift)low
5.Cut blade width slots 1/2" deep to 1 1/4" from bottom
6.I suggest at this point(if you haven't already)check to see if it fits your tray
    If it's to big-trim some off,If it's too small-send me nasty p.m.s,let everyone know i'm a complete hack,and start over.
7.Soften top edges with sander/paper to get the profile you desire
8.Sand all surfaces free of wood grain(it will show through dip after 3 coats)
    9.Dip till your hearts content

I wasn't able to take pics of the process cause it was trial and error,so i tried to show the finished product against right angles .
If i was to do it again i would have sanded more on the sides(you dont notice when installed)to get rid of ALL the grain
I also wouldn't have stuck my finger in the wet dip
The insert actually works pretty good, my drinks of choice are med. and lg. dunkin donuts coffees and they fit perfect. also 20oz sodas stay up too
Heres the pics any questions feel free

What if u put some stenseling on the top in white or color match?. Like tacoma, or toyota or sumthing? that would spice it up a bit.
