The link to the document in the thread above and in the forum thread where I found the info about making the 12V power outlet and cig. lighter constant on is dead.

There are download links for the document in various formats below.

The instructions were not created by me. To the best of my knowledge they were created by the user remelad of the Custom Tacos and TTORA forums. I have followed these instructions to modify the 12V power outlets in my 2007 Tacoma.

There is no warranty, guarantee, or any other assurance that the instructions linked to above are accurate. Any problems that they cause are the responsibility of the the person who chooses to follow them.

    Some notes:

Some people have just opened the relay and 'fixed' it so that it never opens rather than use the jumper wire. I did not do this, see the TTORA thread if you want to modify the relay.

Be careful when you remove the strip below the steering wheel for access. The hood release catch it held in place by a plastic clip and can be broken easily if you let this piece hang by it or apply too much force removing it.

These instructions can be used for general instructions for gaining access to the fuse block.

Thanks Marvin! I've had a few people ask me for it, but no place to dump it for downloading.

Has anyone else tried PART II of this and have it work for you? I can't seem to get it to work on my truck (08' with factory keyless entry and no alarm).

Best I can tell is that those are first gen instructions. Don't work on my 07 factory keyless either.

    Ok, quick question:

On the BHLM, did you guys take out the two headlight adjustment screws as well?

I am trying to avoid the PITA that realigning them would be.

I don't remember for sure, but I know I only removed screws that needed to come out to pull the lenses apart. I think that meant just 3 at the bottom along the edge.

Ok, that is what I did...

2 coats on. 1 more to go.

Has anyone "baked" the paint onto the lenses after the final coat? I am thinking that this would cure the paint a bit more before putting it all back together. That would help eliminate some of the fogging. Just a thought. I might try it.

I didn't bake the paint on mine, but I did leave them set over night to dry. I haven't had any fogging issues.

Ok, well for now - mine are getting a sun bath on my driveway. I did 3 coats, but when I got out in the sun I could see some spots I missed. So, they will be out there until it starts to rain. (yeah, right)

So I'm guessing this means I don't need the headlights or parking lights on to have the fogs on, but when I turn off the ignition will the fogs still stay on? Or will I have to remember to manually turn them off everytime I use them?

I did this mod Friday evening. Spent 10 minutes total (thanks piercedtiger!!!).
The fog lights go off when you turn off the ignition! What a great and simple mod.

True, THAT! I went to do it, and it took longer to open the hood and get my tools out, than it did to do this mod. :D

I did that one today. What an awesome mod!

I also did the BHLM, Alternating Turn Signals, remounted my iPod, and decided to get a body shop to cut a hole for me tomorrow for my URD TCAI!

Damn, I love my truck! :bananadance:

Here is a teaser pic of the BHLM - 007 Style...

So, I spent most of my day doing the BHLM conversion on my truck, and all weekend doing modifications to my truck. I have been sick as a dog, and not able to do much else. So, I left the door to the house open and closed the garage (so my electric bill is gonna suck). While I don't feel any better - my truck sure does look better.

As I still feel like a bug in the grill, I won't be taking any more photos today, but I wanted to get a teaser up...

Oh, and here is my "Fog Light on Anytime Mod" (it takes longer to type it out than to actually do the thang! ;))...

Ok I did the foglights on anytime mod today after work. Took about 5 minutes.

I used a wire with a pin from an aftermarked GM radio wiring harness.

The GM wiring harness uses a thinker gauge wire than the green wire in the fusebox, so I cut the pointy part of the pin off, and the rest of the pin fits around the pin of the green wire. I didn't have to cut the green wire. I like to keep things as reversable as possible.
