Why would you want use the locker full time when you have plenty of traction with a standard open differential? Think about it, when on a curvy, paved road, you have one outside tire spinning faster than the inside, something has to slip. It'll wear out your tires faster and put unnecessary strain on the rear end. It's kind of the like the 4wd on dry pavement argument, sure it works, but why would you want to?

You don't lock up on dry asphalt period. Let alone curvy roads like that.

If you're talking about curvy trails with mud, sand, or gravel that make you need the extra traction then you're fine. The tires can slip enough to be ok.

I was not going to actually lock it and drive on curvy roads. I was just asking about damage and if anyone has done it and how bad the damage was.

Like the previous response, it will most liekly just wear out your tires prematurely. However, if something binds and breaks, it is usually teeth on the ring and/or pinion. On the high side, I was quoted $1,500 per axle to regear my Jeep. Obviously I went with another shop, but they wouldn't charge $1,500 if people didn't pay it...

Recently bought an 11 Tacoma and didn't realize until after purchase that it lacked intermitent wipers. I thought everything nowadays had these! Comes in handy where I live as it snows for 5 months and rains for 6 mos. Contacted local Toyota dealer and they quoted $240 for wiper stalk, $100 for relay, and steering wheel would have to be removed to install. Found this forum and purchased a wiper stalk from 1stToyota parts for $140 delivered to door and thanks to detailed instructions it took me less than 10 mins. to install.
    Happy camper now!

By mistake I ordered 8465202610 when I really wanted to order -04141.
I was bummed out, but tried it anyhow. SURPRISE!:) 8465202610 works perfect for the '11 access cab, 4cyl. In fact it matches the '11 photos/drawings in the manual. Since I did not get the -04141 I am not sure of the differences? I think the -04141 works, but the speed markings are reversed. 8465202610, everthing is correct on it, delay works exactly as marked. As everyone has said, hardest part is removing the steering wheel plastic covers. I think we both have the exact same truck and I ordered from 1stToyota I think it was 121.00. Had it in 3 days as they shipped priority mail.

I really took my time and I think it took me all of :45 minutes. If I had to do it again, :15 minutes.

FOR KEYLESS REMOTE BEEP DISABLE ON A DOUBLE CAB TRY THIS

SWITCHING BEEP SOUND ON AND OFF
You can switch the beep on and off. (The
beep is on initially and after battery replacement.)
To switch the beep on and off:
    With the driver’s door opened—
    1. Insert the ignition key and remove it.
    2. Within 5 seconds, insert the ignition
key again and turn it to the “ON” position.
    3. After 10 seconds, push the same
    “LOCK”, “UNLOCK” or “PANIC” switch
    twice within 10 seconds.
Two beep sounds inform you that the
program has been switched on or off.
If this procedure is not followed exactly,
the beep will not operate as expected.
Check the beep ON/OFF operation by
pushing the transmitter switch after you
finish this procedure. If the beep does not
operate as expected, repeat this procedure
    from step 1.

So this is just the best way i have found to keep my maglight semi-handy and out of the way, without it banging around and making noise. This is especially useful if you have the big 6 D cell maglight like i do, because it doesnt fit beside the seat, or anywhere else that could be even the slightest bit useful.

    2011-09-21_16-51-54_825_17fee37ff8a1279af56103cfb740a355a3aaede0.jpg

    Materials:
    -1 Maglight Belt holder ( http://maglitesales.com/maglitestore/Holsters/Maglite-Belt-Holder-D-Cell-ASXD036 )
-A length of chord, heavy twine, or something like that.

    Instructions:
1.Chose which side you will put it on, (i chose the passenger seat so i could reach it from the drivers seat) and pull that headrest up a bit.
2.Take your piece of chord or whatever, and tie it so that it goes across the two pegs that mount the headrest to the seat.
3.Clip the maglight belt holder to the chord (or whatever) thats going across the pegs so that the loop hangs down the back of the seat.
4.Push the headrest back down and done!

    (it should look like this)
    2011-09-21_16-50-44_1771_d4e796072b1cc88adda09cd5cfd99a0630dc653e.jpg

Then just put the maglight in it, and (if its a long one), tuck the end of the light into the seat pocket so it wont fall out in a roll over/ smack the person in the back seat in the face) leave it out if you don't like the person in the back seat).

    Hope someone finds this helpful!
