Sitting in a hotel on a business trip bored. Just read all 70 pages of the thread. Love it, but if one more person quotes a post with five pictures in it I'm going to lose my mind. It is rare when this kind of quoting is necessary people! /rant.

Why Can't I stop!! I want to do all of these... right now!

One that I tried and had trouble with was the seat belt chime on my '11 SR5. Tried at least 3 separate times... with no avail! Any ideas, besides keep your foot off the brake?

 but I would use a 3amp fuse instead of the 1amp fuse you used because your adapter is a 2.1 amp adapter.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
That compressor is great until it dies on you, which it is guaranteed to do at some point. If you don't mind the chance it will die on you just when you need it most (say, when you have a punctured tire in remote back country, three hours from the closest help), then yeah, it's your best bet.
However, if you're looking for a little more piece of mind and a lot more longevity, search "Puma 12v compressor" -- you'll likely end up at the Buzzard Gulch eBay store. $230 shipped to your door for a 3.5cfm 100% duty cycle compressor with an air tank and everything needed to run out of the box. Add in whatever cost for your custom installation, and you've got a full OBA system installed and always ready to go for well under the price of the more popular compressor-only units.
Experience speaking all around here. I had the MV-1050. Had it die on me after filling three of four tires at the end of an aired-down back country trip in Mojave. Have the Puma installed and working now (currently without tank, but soon to be remedied). And yeah, I've had two punctured tires in remote back country, three hours from the closest help, and I was sweating bullets that the MV wouldn't die on me then (it didn't).
Also, why chop the jumper cables?? They could be used as a backup set, and still serve the purpose you describe -- that's how I did it when I had my MV-1050.

Find one with a cover or you could just mount it vertical, on the back of the console.

Thanks for the reference - I found what might be what you're talking about but I'm not sure. The one I found is less expensive so it may not be the same one:

    $63.97 - http://www.popandlock.net/Manual_Tailgate_Lock/Toyota_Tailgate_Lock?product_id=87

Update: I found the Tuffy lockbox describe in a later post: $191 - http://www.tuffyproducts.com/p-235-toyota-tacoma-bed-security-lockbox.aspx
