Has anyone replaced their front valance with an inexpensive OE replacement one?

    https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Toyota-Valance-Partslink-TO1095131/dp/B004GCLMXW

Looks like there's several out there. In general the reviews say they fit, except for an emphatic few that say they don't. Amazon's vehicle filter also says none of them fit. Wondering about quality too if anybody knows. I probably shouldn't expect much for $40 though...

I bought one from Amazon for my son's '98 4Runner. It fit perfectly. Looks good.

Thanks guys. Did you put them on a 2WD or 4WD? For all the Amazon options, there's conflicting info about whether there's a difference.

The 4Runner is 2wd. 1998 Limited. This is the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GCDPV4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Amazon says it does NOT fit my 2003 4wd Tacoma. But, it says that it does fit my 1998 4Runner (and it does). I haven't compared them to see how similar the two trucks are in this regard.

Thanks. I just looked up the Toyota part numbers for both 2WD and 4WD for a 2002. They are identical, so I don't see why these would be any different.

Last question: some of these say they are gray... or "pre-primed"... or "textured finish". I'm guessing those are boilerplate holdover descriptions. Did yours pretty much match the existing bumper plastic out of the box?

Been wanting to use Rockauto, but their shipping cost has been astronomical for all the parts I've shopped for.

It was black plastic. I'll try to remember to take a picture and upload it this evening.

Did you end up putting it on? How was it to remove just the valance? I don’t want to buy the entire kit if I can avoid it...

FYI to others(OP already bought Amazon), I bought the RockAuto and it fit perfectly. He's right though, shipping often kills RA over Amazon Prime or other free shipping offers.

Also, as I documented elsewhere, RA screwed me on a dented hood claiming "no return after 30 days". I had ordered it earlier than needed and didn't open it until about 6 weeks after receipt. They also said I would have had to open it while the delivery driver was on-site and show him the damage. Yeah, just tell me I am screwed and be done with it. Don't make up stupid rules.

I have one sitting in my front yard off my 2004 if you want it.

Come pick it up and it's yours. I don't even have to be home, lol
