    Not only is it an option, updates are not free AFAIK. Not to mention the mess you have if it breaks out of warranty.

    Good portable units can be updated free (usually for 4x a year for 3 yrs or so), they can be relocated between your vehicles. If you fly you can pop it in your rental, preloaded with your destinations, and you can use it as a walking guide in places that don't have 4g or wifi connectivity.

    While the in dash is purdy, I'd never chose to have one.

    I'm haviing trouble trying to find the adhesive mount for this setup. Where dis you get the adhesive mount you have that says gopro on it?

    Edit: wait did you say factory gopro mount? What am I not grasping here...

    The '16 Tacoma's come with th GoPro mount from the factory. No idea where you could buy one. Try Toyota parts for a 2016 Tacoma.

    Basspro has the mounts for the go pro in the same area as the camera for windshield mounts
