Cheap Generic Tailgate Reinforcement?

    Is anyone using the cheap generic tailgate reinforcement panels on Amazon? It says they’re 1/16” steel. Do they work?

    a flat piece of 1/16th steel is going to offer next to nothing as far as reinforcement. Thats just a molle panel for your tail gate and not much more. You need to have some structure to the reinforcement, thats why any of the good ones are bent and wrap the top cap of the tail gate, this creates some structural rigidity.

    That looks like it's supposed to go under the plastic. I can't remember what brand I have but it goes behind the plastic and over the top of the tail gate.
