Hi all, apologies if this has been posted before.

I'm about to take the Tacoma out for it's first 4x4 adventure. Seeing as sliders are usually the first sensible modification, what are your guys recommendations for a cheaper pair of sliders?

I'm not keen on spending $800-$1k. It seems to me that weld on sliders are generally cheaper and I'm definitely okay with welding.

I'm hoping to spend $500 or less. If that's ridiculously low and impossible I'd like you people to point and laugh at me :)

I found skids to be more beneficial imho; considering I have a wrecked IFS skid and my sliders are pristine, im biased

You won't find anything cheaper unless you bend them yourself

SOS Concepts are cheaper compared to most, but still excellent sliders. Although shipping to the west coast may be cost prohibitive, you’d just have to check with them.

If you message @JimboAnz he can hook you up.

I got some CBI sliders for around $600, but then you have shipping, which up'd it. Maybe find someone local, buy bare and finish them yourself., save you some $$

I find sliders to also be beneficial in parking lots, helps avoid door dings from careless individuals! In on this thread, going to be looking for a set for myself soon as well.

I disagree. My first trip out, my sliders paid for themselves 3 times saving my rockers and doors each time. I also drug my stock skid, and exhaust cross under alot with no damage.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
They're a good choice, when I flipped truck they barely even dented after being bounced on by the entire rest of the truck

trail gears sliders are about the cheapest out there but they require a little fab work to install and if you can't weld they will be equal in price to a lot of other options. But I would do skids before sliders. slicing open your oil pan is a lot worse then a few dents on the bottom of your rockers.

IMHO id rather do it right and save up for the 800-1000$ sliders that bolt on rather than mess with weld ons....apart from that the only other option i see is to make/bend them yourself if you want to save money
