Critics of this build may want to consider the multipassenger tacoma under seige scenario: The long gun can be reached by a passenger while driver or other passenger lays down a supressing fire or deals with a threat in some other way. Also good for transport to range with a stop off in between, remaining well hidden. I like the shotgun idea a lot and plan to do this as you did.

I like it, clever and simple mod OP. Plan on doing this mod, great for transporting a scattergun and doesn't take up a lot of space.

Its approx 47"L x 7"W x 6"H. There is a hump at the 40/60 split. Passenger side has the jack and wrench.

I know this is an older post but I think this is a great idea. As mentioned by you and another poster, this is not or should not be your primary go to weapon. A good hand gun that's within your reach and ready for anything .. carjackers, zombies, assholes in need of adjustments. I only have 2 minor adjustments .. I have a Mossberg Mariner in the same configuration and added a way to throw it over my shoulder If i need to leave my truck on foot. Thanks for the post

It's the exact same as a "trunk gun". Absolutely not for quick deployment, but as a "get home gun" or to have in case the shit hits the fan and you are gonna be on your own for a while, trying to get home or to help protect a hasty camp from zombies. I like the storage location, and mount, nice work. Handguns drawn from a holster will deal with carjackers
