Not sure about the US. But in Canada at the first service, they give you a free vehicle custumization. You can get the signal lights changed. They seat belt chime changed as well as other things changed too.

Has anybody else noticed that AUTO on the fancy climate controls will not do front defrost? It has bugged me to no end living in a humid climate. Well turns out that's an option. Looking forward to seeing how it works.

Thanks for all the info in this thread. It's a little sketchy modifying settings like this wirelessly, but was very easy.

Yeah I agree. Can't see where this has the ability to go bad unless one pulls the ELM during the rewrite,

desantim--What vehicle do you select in the Carista app? Their website doesn't list Tacomas as supported.

No vehicle needed. Just let it scan the settings.

This looks interesting. I was looking into the cheaper ones to monitor OBDII codes in place of my old-school ScanGauge, but I don't think they allow you to change settings like this one does.

Doesn't work for iPhone my understanding only for android. The $40 works with both on Bluetooth.

Just got back from the 5K service. They turned off the Seatbelt chime, no questions asked.

Didn't do anything noticeable. There was a setting in the climate section about defrost when on auto. Too bad, my windows still fog up and it doesn't go into defrost on auto.

Thanks, @Herminator. I just got Carista from Amazon and installed the free app on my iPhone. For $40 I was able check my codes. For the one time $20 I was able to customize a bunch of stuff, including seatbelt chime. Well worth it to me.

For the critics, I believe in seat belts, I just don't want my vehicle reminding me every time. Freedom means responsibility.

Just got my OBDII sensor (cheap one from Amazon) plugged it in, ran the carista app.. disabled Seat Belt warnings, disabled panic button on the remote, turned signals onto 7 flashes, and turned on one button unlock all doors.. took me about 5 minutes and worked like a charm.. very happy with this result :)

Best thing is, once you purchase the Pro upgrade, you can mod your other supported vehicles as well.
