cheap temp/compass display fix on eBay

Anyone ever send their temp / compass off to get fixed via eBay. way cheaper than replacing it. the fix seems beyond my neanderthal skills.

 

I'm not sure I'd send ebay....anything..

 

I just sent mine off last week to a guy on ebay. Price was $14.25 and included return shipping and a lifetime warranty. I had taken it apart first and didn't find the anything loose like the repair threads talk about. I should be getting it back today or tomorrow, I'll post up the results.

I did this around 3-4 years ago. Can't remember who I did it through. It came with a lifetime warranty and it's been working perfectly ever since.

 

Got it back in the mail today. It didn't work at all before, now it seems to work perfectly. BTW, it if it's perfectly in the smallest USPS priority shipping box and ships for $6.80.
