I’m looking to buy two Front Runner Wolf Pack pros. The cheapest shipping I can find is about 30 bucks in the continental us. I live in Atlanta but can’t find any vendors here. Any ideas of a shop with cheaper or free shipping? Thanks

Seems like perfectly reasonable shipping for oversized items. You've been spoiled by Amazon. Find something there that suits your needs if you don't want to pay shipping.

Not sure if they carry them, but truck brigade usually has free shipping.

I know this isnt the cool answer, but 70 bucks for a 20x15 blown propylene box, plus ship? Why not go browse the organizer aisle at northern tool? I bet I could find some neat boxes for $10 per, and if I want them to be all tacticool, I'll splurge on a $5 can of black krylon fusion. :notsure:

You can buy the same box, water sealed at Costco for 16.99. IRIS 62 Qt. WeatherPro Storage Box in Clear 110550 - The Home Depot I can't find the link on their site but it's in the store right now as we speak.
I use this because it's pretty much the same but I think it's better. They are stackable too! The only con about this is that it's see-through and you cant mount it to the top of your roof. I put the boxes in my bed so doesn't really matter to me. Ive seen those front runner boxes in person and its poorly made imo.

I got the wolf packs and have appear to be great quality. If you’ve even tried strapping down 10 dollar plastic boxes on a roof, then you will know they are garbage and wouldn’t last multiple camping trips. I’ve used modestly priced packaway boxes from Home Depot — including Milwaukee and Rigid. Those are adequate, but the dimensions are not good for camping gear and are either very shallow or toolbox dimensions. Products that are purpose made typically have different functions. For instance, I can fit butane cans standing up without wasted space.

like anything else, you pay for what you get. If you spend several weeks a year camping, you’d probably realize you save money by buying qualify. The price point is high, but nothing like pelican, roam, yeti etc. I buy quality for the same reason I got a Tacoma over a Colorado.

It’s not the “same.” I had those boxes in black from Home Depot in different dimensions. They are very cheap. And yes. Clear boxes are a deal breaker for any external storage. I suspect you have never used either Front Runner or Iris boxes based on your comment. Even the original Front Runner boxes were markedly better. I had and sold two of those for these new boxes.

This thread is the epitome of this site. I ask a simple, non controversial question about shipping costs or local vendors. I get one helpful response, one response stating I shouldn’t be so cheap and 30 bucks shipping is reasonable (which isn’t exactly wrong but not helpful), and two comments telling me that the price of the boxes are too high (even though they’ve clearly never used or seen them or the other products they reference). Thanks TW! Still a great site! Haha

A simple "fuck off, I like these boxes" would suffice. :cookiemonster: Nah I'm kidding. Kind-of.

I do go camping several weeks a year. (From the comfort of my pop-up trailer.) :cookiemonster: I know my camp organization, I run a few contico brand SUV boxes as my hard storage, Plano cases for small storage, though lately I've been much more into soft-sided containers like camp chef and the long-since-discontinued mountainsmith and Kelty binto bags. (Occasionally they show up on fleabay) Those little guys are great for keeping clothing, linens and the dry pantry organized when on the road.

I've been camping long enough to know how to find a good container for cheap- my hard side containers are over 20 years old at this point- but also I know the joy of buying a piece of overpriced kit because fuck it, it looks cool. I'm guilty of that myself many times over. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

Enjoy your boxes. If they make you happy, that's all the justification you need.
