One time .. Coleman, Ultimate Xtreme Marine, 48 qt, had six days in Georgia, Red Top Mountain State Park, camping.
20 lbs of ice no refill. Had ice to throw away when I got home.
Previously I bought ice every day or two.

    Warm drinks are the enemy.

Going to be picking up a Canyon Cooler 55 tomorrow. The reason for me going with this brand is their Lifetime Warranty

Bought the 52q Ozark Trail from walmart. Had some store credit that dropped it to about a hundred bucks. Hard to pass at that price. Mostly plan on using it to put bulk frozen stuff from Sams in it while we do the other shopping at Publix so I don't have to drive back home.
I like the features so far. The basket is handy, the latches are replaceable, the handles are very basic and replaceable, and I love that it has the male part of the drain. I plan on putting a brass shut-off valve on there so I can simply attach a short garden hose and drain it straight from it's spot in the bed without having to move it and splash water all over the ground.

Also, most importantly, I love the orange accents because I work for Geek Squad

Could just stick them in the snow or a creek. Haha. Rtic is my brand of choice.

Yeah I like Rtic. I've got a ton of their cups. They've been running a 25% off coupon for a while which would drop the 45qt down to $142. The Ozark trail 52qt was $137 and I had a gift card to knock more off. I like the drain better on the OT, and the cup holders on the lid. Also like everything is easily replaceable for when it breaks.

The Rtic "probably" performs better, but I just don't need 7 days of ice. 4-5 days is plenty for me.

I got the 77qt as the seal was substantially better, and with an ice cooler you stand to lose about 1/3 the space to blocks of ice, and chip ice.. I will typically fill mine for a 4 day trip with 2 blocks of ice, and 2 bags of chipped ice.. but I may start freezing my own water in either bags, or large water bladders for drinking water instead of buying cases of bottled water for each trip, typically have 1 jerry can 6gallons, and a case of water, plus 2gallons in my rinsekit+.. and my 1litre Camelback bottle up in the cab.. anyways, the 77qt is great, sturdy as hell, and is quite heavy , even empty., moldings are thick, and durable, at 260lbs I can stand on it no problem, and the textured top is nice, plus the bottle opener. Loading it with the ice above it has kept my food, and drinks cold for over 6 days, GET BLOCK ICE WHEN YOU CAN, CHIP ICE MELTS FASTER.. I drain it every morning, and using the blocks on the bottom keeps the food out of the water for the most part.. I do wish they offered some sort of organizer for it.. but so far its held up to 1 season of use, and about 5 trips through some rough country.. I keep mine in the bed under my tonneau cover.. summertime the ice retention suffers due to this.. may wind up going with a different bed rack for the RTT, so I'll have to see how it fares in the bed without the black tonneau cover..
