Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
that looks like an 89-95 toyota body, with front work from 05-11 tacoma..

interior is likely also very close to a toyota.

From what i understand, companys like this, Great Wall "deer" etc buy plans and some of the tooling from retired toyota designs and continue to produce them shitty and cheap for third world and china..

The Great wall "deer" built in china was all over iraq

here are examples of the 89-95 chinese copy

when i was in iraq, the ones we had were 2002 (this body style) and 2006 95-07 04ish front end tacoma clone if i remember right

I always thought it would be nice to import some great wall beds and tailgates for all our rusted out yotas

and for whoever mentioned cheap chinese diesel swap.

If it was a running and driving swap for $500 total. then sure. otherwise your better off with ANY toyota engine, ever.. including the 20r

i would like to buy that whole lot full and just destroy one a week in the woods for the next few years.

Probably cost about 7k each new though.. little pricey

Then I would import those bodies, throw away the engine and do a JDM or Cummins Diesel swap. Would make a great off-road rig.

    Probably a sh*tty frame tho

im sure it is. But it would be cool.

Id rather find an old yota frame and bring the china body over to it.

    then like you mentioned above

Need a MOAB dropped on those copies, It would be awesome if Toyota pumped out classics like that though.

that would be sweet to watch. from a distance. or on slow motion camera. or both

And hell yes, even if they just sold them as offroad vehicles..

a 1985 toyota pickup sticker was less than most quads now. With markup and the break they would get from losing the DOT cert for street legal status.. it would likely still be cheaper than most side by sides.
