Check charging system?

So while getting gas for the first time, key turned two clicks cause I'm trying to figure out how to reset the gas mileage, and I get a check charging system. Normal? Engine off, key on too mess with settings. Please say yes.

 

Gas mileage will update on its own. Message is normal in aux mode.

 

I wanted to reset the avg mpg for the next tank. No toyota has ever done this on their own, confused

 

Ah, not the mileage left reset. Forgot how to do that too. Mines a push button and we get the same message.

 

Check charging happens cause nothing is charging the battery when you turn it on with the engine off. Mpg resets automatically when you fill

 

That setting is in/the head unit. Get to main menu, touch" eco "
And I belive there is a setting in heads up display/info center between speedometer and tach. Just scroll through the steering wheel controls to do that.

The MPG should reset as soon as you put it into drive.

Yes the charge system message is normal. In most other vehicles you'd just see a battery light so yes, in a way, every vehicle does this under this same circumstance.
