12v always on power point mod, tailgate anti-theft, Addl bed tiedowns, flyzeye dash lights, map lites with dome lite mod, bed stiffeners, air bags, brake controller, always on fog lights,
Today, for the third time in two months, my check engine and VSC lights came on. The two times prior the code has been P04556 (minor emissions leak). I replaced the gas cap, but still comes on. I haven't figured out how the VSC light plays into this. Anyone have any insight into possible causes? I'm getting tired of going to O'reilly's to get the code verified and reset. The dealership wants $125 to hook it up and diagnose the problem. I can only imagine the cost to repair. Help!

Well if it’s any consolation my VSC light has been on for 7 years

It's extremely common for multiple lights to come on for a simple code, you have some sort of vacuum leak somewhere past finding someone with a smoke machine going to be a little hard to find

Maybe find an independent mechanic? He won't charge you to diagnose if you have him fix it. Disconnecting the battery will also reset the light, but you’ll still have to actually fix it.

When they are reset, both lights go out. Thanks Sandman for the link. I did a search, but didn't come up with that thread. So, should I take it to have it diagnosed, then get my own parts?

I had the clock spring replaced already under TSB, P. Steve.

Me, too. Edit: I am growing quite fond of the light; knowing it’ll be waiting for me
