This is a bit of a long story to how I got to where I am so I'll try to be quick and concise.

In August my serpentine belt snapped while driving. Replaced the belt, noticed there was an oil leak. Replaced the crank seal. Oil leak gone. The new belt snapped again so replaced the pulleys and put on another new belt. Issue resolved. A new problem came to be shortly after where the vehicle would very randomly stutter and even sometimes shut off. After months of trying to fix it I took it to a Toyota dealer. The problem was a wire that went to the throttle body assembly had been worn through and was shorting intermittently against the AC line.

The dealer misdiagnosed the problem before finding out it was an electrical short. They first said it was the torque converter and replaced it. That didn't work so they said my SLU solenoid was bad and replaced my whole transmission with a reman. My transmission wasn't the problem and my SLU solenoid was not the cause since its only active in gears 4 and 5. They comped me for the previous repairs and went on to fix my electrical short. I'm worried they may have done a poor installation or caused other damage.

First time driving the truck after getting it back from the dealer I slid a tiny bit on some ice, nothing serious at all but abs kicked on briefly. After that my check engine light and slip indicator light turned on. Read the codes and I got P0456 and P0430. I replaced my gas cap because it needed replaced. Cleared the codes because it ran good and my catalytic converter didn't seem to be having problems. Today (5 days since I got it back from the dealer) while leaving work I noticed a puddle of fluid under the truck. Looked like oil. I drove home and the check engine light and slip indicator light came back on. I checked my oil after driving 40 miles home and it doesn't appear I lost any oil. I noticed new noises as well ever since I got the truck back, mainly when I make sharper turns like when pulling in to parking lots I hear some sort of soft thud. I checked my cv joints and they appear dry and undamaged. I also hear a weird clicking sound when driving highway speeds. IntermiPXL_20240118_090858391.jpg PXL_20240118_090842845.jpg ttent and quiet. But a new sound. I got under the truck and noticed some slickness on some of the lines that move around the transmission (the new one they just installed).PXL_20240118_090858391.jpg

It's hard to see in the photos but the pictured lines are covered in what appears to be oil. Ultimately I don't know what this fluid is. I don't think it's transmission fluid. I'm also not so sure it's engine oil however it looks more like fairly clean engine oil, soft brown. The performance of the truck seems unaffected right now.

Truck has 192k miles so it could be a new problem not related to the work they did on the truck. But the context of the repairs that they did alongside the technician working on the truck making 2 severe misdiagnosis and getting kicked off the job to be replaced by master technicians makes me think the 2 needless repairs were done poorly and this could be a symptom of it. It seems like a series of problems. A fluid leak, a possible exhaust/emissions issue, possible sensor issue.
