Check Engine light and no O/D

Had my transmission rebuilt a couple months ago. My truck has 224,000 miles. I’ve had this same problem 2 other times both occurring after the rebuild. First time the shop says it was the valve body, and the second time the shop said it was bad solenoid. My truck also would go into gear hard, sometimes not engaging. I don’t know enough about transmissions to know what the problem is. What do you guys think it would be.

 

Welcome to TW. You need to get the code(s) read. Many engine problems, that turn on the check engine light, will make the trans not shift into OD. Your problem very well may not be a transmission problem. I hope you come back and let us know the outcome.
