I had a CBI high clearance rear bumper installed on my truck. After I get the truck back from the shop, the check engine light and traction control light were on. They explained that since the parking and bsm sensor were unplugged, the traction control light will be on. The check engine light was because the o2 sensors.

I replaced the o2 sensors, reset the computer and then drove 50 miles. The check engine is still on for the same codes.

I plugged in the sensors and ziptied them up under the bumper, then turned off the sensors in the cab, then reset the computer and drove 50 miles. The traction control light is still on.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the issue may be?

That doesn't sound right. My BSM and parking sensors have been unplugged for a while due to a rear end fender bender a few years back and it does not activate the traction control light. I just disabled BSM from the dash menu options and I think the parking switch is located by the usb ports in the middle.

Replaced the O2 sensors and the cel still on for the same code, so they were not the problem.

What are the codes? Sounds like they messed up your abs sensor(s)

I clicked the buttons to disable the bsm and parking sensor next to the usb ports in the middle. It didnt seem to do anything for me.

Can't comment on the BSM issue, but P0031/51 are your bank 1 & 2 upstream 02/AFR. Plug a scan tool with live data capability in and monitor those and your short & long term fuel trims. That should give you a starting point.

I'll try to offer some help for your O2 issues.
Did you buy OEM Denso Sensors? They're expensive but they work...
Those two codes indicate issues with the sensor's heater circuits. The Heater Circuits within each sensor allow the engine to go into Closed Loop almost immediately after start-up for better emissions control.
It's not common for both upstream sensor heater circuits to fail at once. Check the Heater Relay. I believe this relay is under the hood by the battery.

    Good luck.

Same problem with upstream Bank2. Removed, cleaned with sea soap and wire brush, and replugged in. Reset ECU with 30 min negative battery terminal removal, problem solved. If you just installed new sensors, harness or contacts may be bad.

Seems like Brian has the best answer, if I were to guess. (and also check the 20 amp fuse feeding that relay, fuse appears to ONLY feeds the A/F sensors it appears.)

Thanks to BigWhiteTRD for putting up the schematic and mentioning the fuse in the circuit.

UPDATE: I took the tacoma to the toyota dealership, and they determined the ECM was fried. After having it replaced, the check engine light/traction light are no longer on. Fortunately they were willing to replace it under the extended warranty, so that saved $1400. Thank you everyone for the advice/help.

Thanks for the update, its appreciated.
Not many 'proven' ECU failures, so interesting to hear.
