Couldn't pass smog because the check engine light doesn't work. Looks like I need to replace entire cluster. Anyone have this issue before?

Do any of the other gauge lights not work?

I suppose you could test the ground. Other than that, there isn’t much else I know to test.
The ECM provides Ground for the Check Engine light.
I guess you might see if the ECU is providing Ground.
And the wiring is good from the ECU to the cluster.
Note that there is a plug between the 2. - ll1
I don’t have access to the plug diagrams right now.

Maybe one of the other guys can help you (us) out.

Maybe the bulb burned out because the light was on for so long :anonymous:

There isn't any bulb. It's a whole LED thing. Need to replace whole cluster

So no codes? Just the bulb check failure?

Look at the back of the board and see if any solder joints popped open
