My check engine light came on for a bit the other day. Once I was home and the truck was off for a while, the light didn't come back on. Had the code pulled at an advanced auto an it came up P0416.

Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve B Circuit Open

Anyone else with any experience with this code?

Read a little about it. Sounds like maybe the emission smog pump that turns on when turning the truck on and off. That's my best guess. Have an appt next week to have it checked. Still under warranty.

Just putting this on here so there is some info for anyone who may search this in the future.

Just reiterating what was on the service print out.

Tech verified check engine light was on with code P0416, air injection valve B open. Tech cleared DTCs and ran self test twice where code P2441 set for valve B stuck open. Tech was advised to swap switching valve connectors. Tech switched connectors and ran self test and found code P2441 to store again. Tech removed inlet hoses and could not blow through valves until battery voltage was supplied. Tech ran self test again after and no DTCs had set. Tech inspected wiring and pin fit on valves and relay for air injection. Found pin 1 on bank 1 valve to be slightly loose. Tech adjusted pin fit on pin 1 for bank 1 and pin 5 for bank 2 air pump valve connectors. Tech ran injection test and test drove vehicle.

Tacoma systems go-online May 12th, 2014. Human decisions are removed from system diagnostics. Tacoma begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 p.m. Eastern time, May 13th. In a panic, Tech tries to disconnect battery.

I have the code p0416 and it won't go away. I attempted the anytime foglight mod with the green wire from the harness. Could I have shorted it out and blown that injection pump?

Possibly, but first disconnect the wire you installed and check all fuses
