Just took my 01 PreRunner in to autoparts store to scan for the CEL. Came back with a Throttle Position Sensor or Pedal Position Sensor. The guy said he wasn't sure if it had a Pedal Position Sensor and if it didn't, it probably was the TPS. Anyone know if a 2001 PreRunner would have a PPS? I've already read some posts on cleaning the throttle body. Maybe I'll just try that first.

The truck has been running fine. The CEL comes on intermittently. It started coming on a couple years ago, but didn't stay on long at all. It's happening more frequently now.

Thanks and sorry if this has already been asked. I couldn't find it if it has.

I just changed Throttle Position Sensor. When putting the new one on, it doesn't just pop right in. There's something sticking out of the throttle body that goes into the opening on the TPS. I have to rotate that little bar that sticks out of the body so the sensor fits on. Is this correct? I rotated the TPS counter clock-wise (slightly), slide it in and then rotate back clockwise to screw it in. Just making sure I did that part right.
