My check engine light is on and I don’t know why. It came on a month or so ago with the same supposed issue. I cleared it and it didn’t come back. But it came back Tuesday and if I clear it comes back on within 30 seconds of startup. I don’t know what any of this means and I don’t know where to go from here. I’m understanding it as a misfire, but I don’t feel a misfire, I don’t feel like it’s running different per say. I changed my plugs because I couldn’t remember how long it had been.. they looked fine.. but it didn’t help. But is there not a way to see which cylinder is misfiring? Or am I reading this wrong? I’m not seeing an actual code number either. I’m using hptuners, and using the vcm scanner. I do have a tune, with some things disabled, and I’m assuming that is what is listed as “permanent”. So where do I go from here?

P0420/0430 is a catalytic converter code. Could mean a few things, but typically O2 sensors or cats are bad.
Edit- P2237/ P0031 is something with your O2 sensor so I'd start there at least.

Sometimes when I have shoddy service. But that's not the fault of tw.

Those are disabled. My primary cats aren’t even there And haven’t been for quite a while, I’m running headers. I’m on WiFi.

p0031 is a problem with the bank 1 upstream oxygen sensor heater circuit.
P2237 is an open in the bank 1 upstream oxygen sensor sensing circuit.
It seems your either have a wiring problem or a failed bank 1 upstream sensor.

I checked to make sure all the wires were clear and not burnt or anything.. Is bank 1 the drivers side or passenger side? and could i swap sides to see if it gives a different code?

    Bank 1 is passenger side

That would be a good idea to confirm the sensor is bad, if you swap them and the code moves to the other bank you have a bad sensor for sure.

Well. Youre gonna laugh at me. so before i read this., I went back out and was checking things over again. I have extensions for the 02 sensors. As i was feeling around on them as i have them zip tied out of the way of the headers.. the passenger side one just came completely loose of the top connection when i messed with the wire.. So i got it back in there best i could, cleared the code again.. started it up, and it didnt come back. So it seems it wasnt getting a connection. i couldnt visibly tell it wasnt connected fully.. but when i jiggled the wire it just came loose. I also determined that bank 1 is passenger side in the process. thanks for the help.

A random misfire would be P0300, a single cylinder misfire would be p0301-p0306 for cylinder 1-6.
