    You are correct sir. However, plastic does have some very beneficial properties. As stated above, plastic is light and will not rust. A car door is quite different from a home audio enclosure and water runs through the door quite frequently. Plastic also does not "ring" and is very neutral. Plus, it's pretty cheap and easy to mold making it perfect for budget speaker drivers.

    My last set of Focal speakers (165V1 set) had a fiberglass/poly blend material for the basket. Very strong and ridged and it didn't ring at all. I agree that a cast basket is much more desirable but it also costs a good deal more.

    i was very surprised too so i compared the magnet to a quarter.. pretty much the same size!..also to the OP, if you havent noticed its not just 2010's i think its all 2nd gens.

    Hi, first time poster. I was just out shopping for stereo upgrades. I have a 2010 access cab w/sport package. I do not have the JBL stereo. Can anyone tell me the number and size of speakers that I have?

    go to crutchfield.com, the 2010 is the same as 09 os if they don't have the 2010's yet. i think 6x9 in the doors, not sure though
