 Believe it or not, there's a reason all the black/yellow labs in your suburban neighborhood have an unstoppable interest in birds.

I'll give you a hint... It's not because they think they're cute.

No doubt being pushed by some biologist who has never had a bear running at them out in the forest.

I believe it was being used in robberies, so banning it was the only reasonable way to handle it.

Here in Oregon we hunt them because they are a BIG problem. they are over populated and that is not good for anyone (even the cougars). we are not allowed to hunt them with dogs (the only really affective way to hunt them)

how about the idea that they are killing all the fawns and calves so the deer and elk populations are decreasing severely (again in Oregon)

they are a big problem in Oregon, and it is becoming more then occasionally

there you go, i like that quote. i hunt because i am a hunter it is just in my blood, but the kill itself does not do it for me. it is the whole experience of the hunt. all the pain (yes there is pain) all the time, practice and then just the game it's self of predator and pray.

hunting with hounds is not for everyone, if you do not enjoy watching and listening to a hound do what it was born to do you will not like it. if you do like to watch a dog work then it is a very cool experience. again the kill is not the exciting part, it is however a necessary part of the hunt (once you shoot the cat you let the dogs sniff and bite at it a little that is there reward for a job well done.

how about this kill it, eat it, stuff it. for me it showing some respect for a great animal. do i have all my animals stuffed no but i am very selective in what i kill and when i do kill i feel that animal should be shown not as my trophy but as the beautiful animal that it is.

    OK i am done now

That's right, my bad. (Just checked.) They were trying to ban bear spray, albeit it can't be carried or its a concealed weapon. It's pepper spray that's a prohibited weapon, only allowed to be carried by police officers.

Now that I look into it, makes total sense...

    Close .

Bear spray is pepper spray , if it is used against a person or marketed for use against a person it is considered a controlled weapon .

The use of Bear spray against people is what is controlled , along the lines of you being able to own a gun , and legally shoot a cougar , yet it is illegal ( in some cases ) for you to use that same weapon against a person .
