Had Walmart dismount my Falken at3ws and this is what they did!!
Thought I would cut a corner and it bit me real hard. Anyone have this happen to them? What were the results?

I would expect that from Walmart. If they are responsible, have them foot the bill for a new tire. Shouldn’t be much of an argument.

I know. I should have never of gone there! Three of the four tires have damage. I don’t mount or know tires but don’t they use lube to mount them. I would assume the same to dismount. The set of tires has 8k on them. Headed in to the place now. I guess I will wait and see what happens

Sitting at Walmart right now. All 4 tires have damage to the bead. Some worse then others. The tires have 8k on them and made in 2017. Walmart asked me what I think they should do? Haha being reasonable I said replace the tires or refund me the cost of the tires. They are filing a claim with a 3rd party that Walmart uses? So no answers and who knows what the will have me do. The way I see it is the water is pretty muddy becuase I bought the tires online at simpletire.com. Had them mounted at Costco and dismounted and Walmart. I’ll update when I hear from the 3rd party company.

I feel like the biggest moron taking them there. Did it out of convenience I guess. Lesson learned the hard way.

As it stands now. They will be giving a cash credit in the amount of 4 tires minus the 8000 mile usuage...maybe, wait and see.

Yikes, I had that happen at Discount Tire and got a new, free Duratrac out of it. Hopefully Walmart makes it right!

So here is the update finally. Full refund for the cost of the tires. Walmart uses a claims management third party. After reviewing video and photos they found Walmart to be at fault. Shocker right!!! So I guess they used a crowbar and excessive force to remove the tires. Please save yourself the headache and never ever go to Walmart for any tire needs. I still can’t believe myself that I went there.

It looks like excessive force due to lack of tire lube to get them off.

So I mentioned that to Walmart and they told me they don’t use lube to remove tires. Yikes

To be totally fair, it it isn't 'WalMart'. It's the tech who did the work that goobered the tires.

And they had a process to make you whole. Which you may have had much more struggle with at some places.

The same tech in another shop would have done the same thing.

Are the odds higher that you'll have less experienced techs working at *any* big box shop like WalMart? Maybe.

But face it, it's not exactly a high paying job with a strong career path. The guy could be the one doing new car prep at your local dealer next week. :D

That sucks, sorry for your luck! I almost went to the Walmart down the street from me to have tires mounted - glad I didn't.

I agree any other chain place might not have ponied up. Not a Walmart fan myself but in this single instance, at least they were “too big to care” and gave you money.
