About a month ago I thanked you all for helping me decide on a Taco...well it's been a busy month and here's the results:

2009 Taco 4 door 4x4 sport with 6'bed (was shopping for a 2010 but this deal fell into my lap... long story)

    What she came with:
    TRD Sport Extra Value Package
    Factory tow package
    Factory floor mats
    Factory running boards
    AVS window shades
UWS tool box (sold for $200)
    Bridgestone Dueler H/T 265/65 R17 I will be selling

What I put on so far:
A.R.E. CX series cap with "windoors" and a Yakima roof rack system
Auto Spings Kit 2" front lift
Firestone Ride Rite air bags for the rear
    Bridestone Dueler A/T Revo 285/70R-17's
Crossfab light bar with PIAA 520 driving lights wired to a 70's style foot switch
Fog light mod powering the relay from the marker light circuit
Toyota OEM roof rack for the cab

Thanks again for all the help!!!

Nice looking truck. Curious, what made you do the fog lights with the old foot switch?

The PIAA kit comes with a very nice finger switch I guess ment to mount onto a stalk or dash but being an old guy and remembering how natural it was to actuate the brights with my foot I just chose it, and it was cheep to do. I really like the pattern and distance of these lights but realize they can be annoying to oncomming traffic so wanted to be able to control them easily. With an automatic tranny my left foot isn't doing anything anyways so what the heck!
    Thanks for your reply,
    Ken

No that's cool, it's whatever works best for you! When I first learned to drive it was in my dad's '81 Chevy 1/2 ton, 3-on-the-tree & it had the foot switch.

You're right MX, I wasn't messing around. That is why I'm so very gratefull for all the help I got here at Tacoma World... This truck has to work, play and pick up groceries! And I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to take it to a country club if ever asked...wait a minute...that might require a suit and tie or something like that so forget about the country club thing!
    Thanks,
    Ken

The foot switch is awesome. I did this in my '86 Toy 11 years ago for my driving lights for the same reason.

I used a highbeam switch for a '78 Bronco. I got the idea from my own Bronco. I got the plug with leads from the "HELP" section that's located in most of not all auto parts stores.

I will be doing the same thing in my truck for my driving lights. The switch will be installed into the deadfoot, protruding just enough to activate.

My first truck when I was 16 was a '72 Ford Camper Special truck. It had a footswitch and that thing was awesome. Super convenient and quick to use.

    Now you got me thinkin......
