This is madness.
The cynic in me knows this is 95% institutionally manipulated and controlled a la casino.
Then I think it’s more organic, with billions of transactions and different motivations means it’s teasingly un-predictable.

Where I’ve arrived at is, I don’t care what modality it uses, I just want to make money off of it.

Literally not a better feeling in the market lol. It started flying after I bought cheap puts to hedge against my call of course. I was so close to grabbing some 4/16 calls when they were down yesterday but didn't.

I picked this up before it started moving this AM

I like to play both, but to me that was a no brainer. Stupid work getting in the way.

Now I could buy 20 shares for the price of a 4/26 200c, and that would be a terrible call IMO

 

I stumbled on it before it caught the wind...I was looking into GTII.CN a weed stock and realized people might have been buying GTii instead and saw a spike in volume so I decided to buy some shares for a quick flip...But then as more people bought the short volume went insane...like impossible to cover levels...SO if the stock could hang on long enough to get more volume (Like TODAY) the short can get torched ALA OSTK and their run from $5 to $121 when they declared a 10 to 1 digital dividend...
Pure technical play on a MASSIVELY trapped short...
They had 40,000,000 or so shares naked shorted..
GTii retired a bunch of convertible debt (debt that was able to be converted to shares a payment of debt...So if you were massively short and crashed the stock down to almost worthless you can buy that convertible debt for pennies on the dollar and exchange it for shares to cover your short position...) So once that debt was retired there were fewer shares for the short to use to cover.
Next they declared a dividend of special warrants 10:1 for every 10 shares of $GTII you get a 1 year warrant to buy 1 share at $2.70ish...
Again, if you are short on a stock you OWE the dividend...or MUST buy shares....So now the trapped short must cover...
DTCC rule changes on shorts and hopefully soon their rule for margin liquidity...
