hello all, unfortunately the other day in all this damn snow I smacked a curb pretty good. Immediately I knew the steering was jacked, driving straight the top of the wheel is at about 10 o’clock. I was able to pull it into the garage today to take a look, as far as I can tell nothing looks bent or broken.

Although when pulling it in the “check vehicle stability control” light came on the dash, with it apart the wheel sensor and wire don’t seem to be broken or ripped.

Will the computer auto trip just for safety so it’s looked at? It seems like it only needs an alignment.

Called the dealer and the soonest they can get it in is the 30th, am I better off getting an alignment done somewhere else?

    Thanks in advance

I know that with most newer vehicles if the wheel is past a certain point it triggers the stability control, TC etc. You need an alignment to put it back centered. Then go from there to see if anything is bent/broken.

You could get an alignment somewhere else yeah but I would still have the dealer look at the stability control since that’s a pretty important thing

    Yes. Almost always.

Alignments are pretty tech sensitive, so I'm not a fan of big box shops in most cases. I look for a place that specializes in trucks/4wd or sports cars to do my work.

That’s what I figured, if I can avoid them doing more work than they have to I will

@Sp0rttraxx curious how this ended up for you. Dealing with this same issue right now. Same exact scenario.
