Amen to that. Just out of curiosity I tried looking up the studs or nuts on the Toyota parts website... no p/n for either that I could find!

    Soooooooo...

http://arp-bolts.com/kits/ARPkit-detail.php?RecordID=2109 (just a guess on what might fit)

Do ya think we're gonna see people nutting up and putting ARP studs on their diffs now?

Yea flex extension or universal could make it easy to add extra length to he moment arm and that would throw off the torque as you indicated. But an extension that's reasonably the same as a deep socket wouldn't cause any issues.

I don't have any Joe, he just keeps bringing me on threads. It be fine by me if he just minded his own business and leave me the fook alone, but if he pushes I'll push back and anyone else too

    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!

    None needed.
Don't check the 10 differential bolts!! Go inside, eat a samitch, have a beer and let Toyota check these issues out.

Exactly. There may be MORE to this than just some loose bolts. Let the Toyota people fix it. They're the ones that sold you the bag of goods. Hold them accountable to make it right. That is why we paid for a brand new vehicle.

Toyota techs will be using impact wrenches, and may do more harm than good, but it's the only choice for the great majority of ppl and they should go there.

they look like a class 9 bolt. (since metric similar to grade 5)
Similar size as 3/8s too if I remember right 3/8 grade 5 spec is only 30lbs.

There is no class 9 metric bolts but there is a class 9.8, and a class 8.8 is equivalent to SAE grade 5, and the differential studs are M8 X 1.25 and are close in diameter to an SAE 5/16" bolt (.316 M / .312 SAE). An SAE 3/8" bolt is close in diameter to an M10 bolt (393 M / .375 SAE)

ya i just didn't put the decimal lol.

I thought 9.8 was closer to the grade 5.
but if thats the case i'm not sure of the torque spec for that size. rarely see it.
see 3/8 a lot more. but if its around 30 i'd imagine 5/16 is lower as well.

I wonder if it's headline news from Toyota reading all of the threads here today.
