My parents checked all my candy as a kid. They found a few things they threw out (candy apples, loose candy corn, etc things that don't make sense to give out) and let me have the rest. Better to take the 5 seconds and have a looksie rather than have a sick kid and wonder if it's sugar high or crack high.

I thought disguising it as a bologna sandwich would've thrown the world off at least for a few days.

My parents checked ours too, because razor blades. Dad is a bit paranoid, Halloween candy was just another outlet of irrational behavior. Also I'm pretty sure he took half the good stuff and left me with Smarties and jelly bean samplers.

I'll check my kids also, but not because I am worried Tom down the block is trying to murder some kids, but because I like Butterfingers and I'd rather throw out open wrappers and anything homemade because it is too easy not to.

    Whats a restraunts?

My parents didn't let me be alone with strangers. Do any of your kids sit funny or do there farts sound like blowing air through a PVC pipe?

Should we ask more rhetorical questions to try and prove our point?

Tinfoil is just aluminum. I prefer lead thanks.

I also hide all my money in the mattress and I have several deadbolts on the doors inside and outside of my house. Exaggeration is fun, TW is fun, you're fun.

Here's what I think happened. The candy goes through a mechanical wrapper. It has a blade to cut the wrappers apart. The blade nicked the edge of the wrapper the glue over sprayed into the defective candy, and onto the outside of the wrapper, it was heat treated to dry the glue faster and then sent down the inventory counter into a sorting table where some poor guy was probably tired and didn't catch it and it got put into a bonus size bag labeled for sale at your local store, shipped and put out for sale. Some older person got it and started handing it out at around 7 ish maybe earlier and your kid was the unfortunate one with understanding parents that were concerned it to check and now has the candy of his /hers parents choice.

    At least you checked right.

I dunno about this. Kind of pushing things a little far in a discussion about candy, no? Kids being sodomized is kind of never appropriate. :(

Yes. Temperature, softness, make sure they done, tear them into small pieces so she can't get choked on them. So yeah those get checked.

That's why I kept my candy far away from my parents. My dad would take all the chocolates and starburst after I went to bed. I got used to sleeping with a bag of candy.

My kid is still floating inside of mom. It'll be a while before I have to make that extremely critical decision.

She ate all the Halloween candy she wanted last night. I'm sure my future kid is fine.

Anyways I'm out from this humourous excuse for an arguement. I'm sure if you have kids and one of them brought you a candy bar with blue stuff on it you couldn't identify, you'd garbage that sucker pronto.

Maybe you should just accept that other people feel it is in their best interest to check their kid's Halloween candy while you do not instead of trying to convince everyone that they are wrong and you are right

    Blasphemer.

I'm betting by page 14 or so we will argue about the pros and con's of feeding kids prechewed food.
