While servicing my truck today and greasing the front drive shift I noticed that my parking brake cable has enough slack to hit the yoke at the transfer case. Inspected and found some rub marks on it.

I secured mine up by using a license plate plastic clip in nut and a bolt on clamp.

Anyone else noticed this or had an issue?

What does this thing rubbing on the transfer case do to cause vibes in the gas pedal?

Got a pretty fair amount of rub mark on mine

1... keeps it from slapping against the side of the T-case while you are driving , 2...possibly helps with some of the buzzing at certain rpms 3... fun easy project in the garage on a Sunday afternoon. 4.... may reduce stress

By reducing the slack in the cable are you not messing with the cables ability to safely secure the brake? Just a thought I had

Had the same thought , it actually just moves it about an inch away from the case , still seems to have plenty of movement

Well it could save a ebrake cable due to rubbing through the sheathing and rusting the cable in the long run . Definitely playing the long game on this one though .
