I’ve sold a few pairs to guys. I’ve thought about running them, but I’ll probably just switch to an lt kit that has fabbed if I decide to go that route. I will say that they are very nice. But to me you still end up with single shear upper and lower uniball mounting. But if you’re staying mid travel or +2 you won’t find a more solid setup.

White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
Glorified welder. Not sure this is viable. Do you have a Toyota dealer you work with to purchase new spindles? Rather than dealing with shipping costs to you, can you pm me a quote on new oem spindles for a 2010 DCLB Prerunner, accomplish the gusset install and ship to 33411.

It is possibly viable. New spindles, should be straight without question. Gussets installed. Shipped and same day swap out. Money saved on shipping one direction.

Prior to selling my used spindles, set them up and compare the angles to the new spindles prior to installing them. Verified straight spindles that have no serious off road use should pull the $200 without any issues.

Cost of gussets and welding is the same new or used.

If I buy new spindles here locally, they still need to get to California if that is who does the gusset install. Two spindles shipping might get a bit expensive.

Yes it does cost more, but everything would be new.

If you are going to make your own you should look at the available kits on the market (TC, Truck Shop, Dirt Kings, All-Pro, Baja Kits are the ones I know about) and base your design off them.

With the cost of the available ones, $50-$120, I'm not sure there's very many people trying to DIY a kit.

I just did mine, I had the Total chaos swaybar version at first. Those cracked but only on the passenger side so I cut them off. Knuckles seemed to be pretty straight. I put a set of TC non sway bar on and modified them like glorifiedwelder did. They came out decent and now my tires have a little more room between the gussets which is what I was after.

I just wanted to confirm that it seems to be the case where you use the TC gusset to retain the sway bar correct? or at least the best method to reinforce the spindle.

    Retain swaybar = good gusset

not retain swaybar = bad gusset

Sorry but your question confused me a little and wanted to be clear about which is good

Yeah, sorry, mutli-tasking. Ive been looking to reinforce my spindle while retaining the sway bar. Ive seen some kits but wasn't sure which the more favorable one was.

Too bad the gusset material or the fabricated end product cannot be heat treated.

I purchased the tc sway gussets. I’m wondering if it makes sense to add more gussets to them and fully box it in on the back side? And also fill in the gap around the unit bearing caliper bolt. I don’t plan on putting the sway back on it’s been off for 40,000 miles lol.

Off the top of my head I don't see an issue but I'd have to have a spindle in my hand to try to foresee any issues.

Using the gussets as is should be more than enough for 99.99% of people. To crack those gussets you have to get out and offroad a lot and drive way faster than is safe.

I only added one plate to the inside of spindle and placed a filler plate in the bottom corner of the outside of spindle. Not concerned about mud or water build up. I’ll clean it out after a messy trip. Time will tell...

Is it just me, or am I the only one that would like to see the flat plate have dimple die holes in it?
