OK, you guys got me going.... Paranoia all the way.... I crawled under and torgued my nuts..... All 8 were less than 52 ft/lbs. and took about 1/4 turn to reach the 52 ft/lbs.... (they were all about the same).. Makes me think they were torqued around 40 or so... will never know now... but they are all 52 now...

Are there other nuts needing re-torqueing...??

    Don't know...
Toytec u-bolts are the same for 1st gen to 3rd gen.
    Factory torque values for;
    -1st gen is 90 ft/lbs
    -2nd gen is 37 ft/lbs
    -3rd gen is 52 ft/lbs
I wouldn't sweat it; especially if you have aal.

Loose u bolts usually don't break leaves. They break the spring center bolt, letting the leaves shift.

Just did my U-bolts, 2 out of the 8 were about right, the rest were loose, with one being very loose. All good now.

Torqued mine down yesterday. The tech recently loosened mine and re-torqued as a potential fix to my drive to reverse clunk. They torqued them to around 35, going off the 2nd gen. Tightened them to spec. I love checking things after the dealership screws with my truck

mine were all at 52, but I cranked them up to 68 in hopes it would get rid of the creaking I get on hard side-side rocking. didn't work.

Maybe your cab and/or bed mounts?
I creak more in cold weather too.

Hmmm I could believe cab mounts, as it seems as though it is directly under me when it happens. What would the fix be? I am getting close to my 1st 5k dealer oil change, so I was going to have them look at it.

Could try torquing them; it's part of the 5,000 mile special condition maintenance.

Someone posted about tightening some bolts under the cab a few pages back, his were loose also, maybe you have a similar issue?

I keep seeing this "special condition maintenance" thing - what qualifies you for that?

It varies; it's in the Maintenance Manual.
    Toyotacare does not cover it.
