Don't be silly. Kanuter, I mean really, guy.

Oskar Zerkowitz emigrated to the United States and changed his name to "Oscar Ulysses Zerk". He became a world-famous inventor and one of his most prominent creations was a grease fitting known as "the zerk"

What would we do without Wiki?

Finally got around to greasing the zerks, both the front driveshaft ones farted a bunch of air, existing grease was pretty thin, second one took 12+ pumps before purging started. Glad I did that! Thanks everybody for the info, how-to's and photos!

I finally got around to this. I bought this stuff at Harbor Freight with a few other things due the Mother's Day sale: I also grabbed a new flex hose to fix the grease gun that I had from my Dad. He had a nice collection of tools from his mining days.

I was surprised that the standard end worked. I had my needle end ready.

The joints purged nicely and even with a good clean up, slung some on the exhaust.

Took 4 pumps to hear the 1st purge, and took several pumps to purge the black stuff out of all 4. Doing the infamous rear zirk next. Thank you for the heads up to all that contributed. TW 3rd Gen has some BIG hitters.

Rear took 1 1/4 pumps. Quickly purged black stuff. Needle did not look dry. Forgot to check front. This was the best location to hook up for me.

OK guys, I have a 2014 SR5 4WD, I don’t see any zerks...are zerks only on the TRD or do I need to go looking again? I have the truck on front ramps, can’t spin the drive shaft, a neutral setting on the switch would sure be nice!

OK, here’s my update. My 2014 SR5 4x4 doublecab has five driveline zerks, going to grease them first time today, truck has 35,000 miles on it. I have a Dewalt 18v grease gun that I have for my lawn and farm equipment, one hand use. One hand on fitting, one hand on trigger.
If you have a major brand cordless tool you can buy a “bare” tool w/out batteries pretty cheap, these cordless grease guns are great. Bought mine on eBay.

I crawled under my new rig last night. I didn’t see any zerks. Are they the hidden flat type that you need a needle to fill?

One on each end of the front shaft only, unless they changed that also. They're in the middle of the joint. I was able to use a standard end to lube mine. You do have to drop the small skid under the T case for that one.

@Topanga Taco 's second pic above shows the gun connected to the zerk on the aft end of the front shaft.

What’s the “infamous rear zerk?” Anything I should know?

Ok. I crawled under there again. I did not see 1 zerk. Not 1. Is it possible they don’t have grease points anymore?

They deleted the rear ones in 2017, maybe they carried on that program and deleted the fronts in 2018? Mine has the fronts only. They are difficult to see.

I looked all over both the front and rear joints. Didn’t see one.
