What do you guys think of this.

I am going to look at another truck this afternoon

    2007
    Dcab 4x4 TRD-Off Road
    29 K miles
    Indigo ink

It is a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.

The good: It has a decent service record at the local dealer and the interior is very clean and everything looks to be bone stock. And being CPO is has the 7 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty

The not so good: It has a few decent scratches on the bed side with a nice quarter sized ding over the drivers rear fender ( paintless repair should take care of it). The service record also shows that the steering rack was replaced at 9K for a leak ( warranty fix). And it looks like it will need the timing cover TSB (also warranty covered) as I saw some oil residue on the bottom front of the engine and the TSB in not in their service record.

    They are asking $26,995

KBB for a CPO vehicle is around 26,500 and that assume excellent condition ( I would not consider this one excellent)

I would be trading my MINT 07 X-runner for this ( 27K on the Odo)

KBB trade on the X is 18,750 ( I know I wont get that)

I was thinking to offer 24K for the Dcab with a 17.5K trade in on mine

KBB trade in on the Dcab is around 20, so I am even temped to offer less and see where it goes. They do have to pay to certify it so I understand that.

What do you think? I would not ask for it to be reconditioned, I would rather take care of that myself.

    Thanks

    Justin

Get the rock bottom price on the taco BEFORE they even know about the x-runner trade in.

    Good luck

Definitely. Get the Taco as low as possible, then mention the x-runner.

    Hope it all works out.

    Thats a good note,

They saw the X when I was up there, but I didnt say anything about it,

they were really agressive trying to sell me this truck, which I plan to use in my favor.

I am not in a hurry to find a new truck, so they are going to have to give me one hell of a deal for me to bite and I will make sure they know that

Not to bad of a price. I bought my 2007 TRD off road AC a little cheaper than that I would see if they can do a little better.

    elaborate on this.

Considering everything is an easy fix

what would you consider a good deal?

typical trade on an X is about 16 with around 30k

Okay....was thinking that maybe you were looking primarily for 4X4.
The link wasn't mine, but it is a very clean truck and a good price. Perhaps you could use that as a reference......?

Well I have an 06 bsp trd offroad 4x4 v6access cab, I paid $26,500 for it brand NEW! I know the dc's are a little higher but damn! I thought about trading mine on an 2010 tundra trd rock warrior. The dealer would only give me $20,000 trade in on my truck. It only has 15,000 miles and is in new condition! That being said they probably didn't give over 21,000 trade in for the truck. So I would negotiate them down to about 22,000! They are hurting now anyways!!! Use this to your advantage!

if you dont mind we asking, what was their original asking price?

but I just noticed your is a Prerunner, so 22 is looking like a decent number for a 4x4

I wouldn't pay over $21K for it. Dealers will soak you if they can!

You're better off Selling your X locally and getting the cash. Once you get the cash you can haggle with the dealerships.

Heck, I'd talk to a FLEET MANAGER Only and go New. Why you ask?

I got my Brand New Double Cab TRD Off-Road w/2 miles on it. $23,100 w/Factory Alarm, Bed Mat, & OEM Side Tube Steps thrown in. Sticker was $27.600 w/o the extras. Did I mention they had a Starbucks on the actual dealership. They got me a VENTI Latte for Free. That sealed the deal! :D

You've got the upper hand @ the right time. TOYOTA right now is hurting with the Public. They're not going to be selling as many vehicles due to the Recalls & Issues. Pay each dealership against each other. Heck, just talk to internet sales & Fleet Managers..

I'll be saving you a ton of $$$$ and you'll get NEW! Why settle for one with scratches and dents?

Now do I get a discount on my Center Console? LOL

So you can do MUCH better my friend.
